WASHINGTON, Sept 22 (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to approve a invoice aimed at permitting news companies to band with each other to negotiate with Alphabet Inc’s (GOOGL.O) Google and Meta’s (META.O) Fb and acquire extra earnings.

Lead discusses short-term rental application fees, approves monitoring software contract | Local News

LEAD — As the city of Lead gets ready to monitor active short-term rentals within city limits, commissioners have started the conversation about how much the city will charge property owners in application fees.

Earlier this year city officials passed a resolution that requires short-term rental owners to fill out an application with the city in order to operate. At that time the city agreed to give property owners a 90-day grace period to register their businesses for free. So far, city officials say only 22 of the anticipated 100 or more short-term rental owners, have complied with the application
